“YOU GUYS LOOK LIKE MODELS”

Even though me and Carin aren’t eligible to drink in the US, we had quite an eventful weekend.

On Friday we hooked up with Hampus and hung out over at his place on Sunset and Vine. Played some pool, talked about everyday life and listen to good music - like you do on a regular Friday.

On Saturday, we took the bus to Downtown LA, which I’d been telling Carin about for several days and promised to take her. We didn’t find the humongous marketplace that I visited two years ago, so we walked around the Jewelry district for about an hour, then went back to La Brea and 3rd street. I had such an urge to buy something, so we walked into The Grove where we saw our second (and third) celebrity - Natacha Peyre and her boytoy Dhani from A-Teens. (Yes, his last name is irrelevant.) We had a good laugh about it and continued our search for things we don’t really need. After The Grove, we ended up at Ross, where we both bought a pair of shoes. Mine are sort of nice, but they have heals, approximately 5″ high, so please don’t ask what I was thinking. That’s not the only problem either. When we got home and I could try them on again, I realized the left shoe slips of my foot. Great job Stephanie! Then it was Saturday evening, and we were bummed out because we were more or less stuck in the apartment. Fortunately, Jacob texted Carin around 8.00, asking where we were and that we should go and meet up with him and a few other colleagues at the Sunset Junction in Hollywood - which we did. A cab ride for $26 later, a walk two blocks in the opposite direction, a bus ride and yet another walk, we found Jacob. But even though it took time, money and a lot of effort, we ended having a really good time with three of our colleagues. The only really, really, really bad thing that happened was me being a total poophead. I checked the SS Junction schedule wrong and missed Broken Social Scene, who played at 9.40 PM Saturday - and I thought it was on Sunday… Carin thought I didn’t want to go since she’d asked me if I thought that we should’ve gone to it in the afternoon. BIG FAT BUMMER. I was hella pissed. At myself, that is.

Todays goal was S H O P. We got picked up by Hampus and went to Santa Monica, where the three of us hit the 3rd St Promenade. I ended up by spending $250 on five garments from Forever21 and two pairs of Levi’s jeans, á $70 each. It was truly, madly, deeply (doo) a steal! Tomorrow it’s another Monday, and I can’t wait. Good night!
